Operator and scope

This policy covers platanist.com, operated by Abdullah Anzar under the Platanist name in India. It does not describe the data practices of individual applications or linked product websites.

Information collected

Browsing does not require an account. This website has no analytics or advertising trackers. Requests to the hosting service include technical information such as your IP address, requested URL, and browser headers, which are needed to deliver the site.

If you use the contact form, it receives your name, email address, optional company, subject, message, and selected language. These details are sent to the Platanist inbox to handle your request, and a confirmation email is sent to you. Your IP address and email address are used in server memory to limit repeated submissions within one-hour windows. Direct emails also contain the information you choose to send.

The website also has email subscription and confirmation endpoints, although the current homepage does not display a signup form. If you request a subscription, the email address, language, confirmation token, and request and confirmation dates are stored. Confirmed subscription addresses and dates, and email bounce or complaint records, are stored in a MongoDB database.

Cookies and browser preferences

The website code does not set cookies. The light or dark theme preference is stored locally in your browser under platanist-theme. You can remove it by clearing site storage. Language selection uses the page URL and your browser's language header; it does not require a tracking cookie.

Services used

Vercel serves the website. Amazon Web Services Simple Email Service (SES) delivers contact and subscription emails; the email integration also handles bounce and complaint notifications. These services process the request or email information needed for those functions. Subscription records are stored using MongoDB. Project images and fonts are served as website assets, rather than third-party embeds.

Links to products, GitHub, LinkedIn, and other external sites take you to services with their own privacy practices. Review the destination's policy before providing information there.

Security and privacy requests

The website uses HTTPS, and its email connection uses TLS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Avoid submitting passwords, private keys, or sensitive personal information. Email anzar@platanist.com to ask about information you have submitted, request deletion, or request removal from email subscriptions.
